Georgetown Community Day
September 17th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Georgetown University's Healy Lawn at 37th and O Streets, NW

Join the Georgetown community for a day of fun and family-friendly activities! Enjoy the celebration where there will be free food, performances, face painting, moonbounces, and so much more!  The community fair includes tables from local schools, churches, community organizations, and University departments with information and giveaways.

Move Out Drive
May 2nd - May 31st

The Office of Neighborhood Life is leading its annual Move Out Drive for students -- and neighbors are free to participate too! Between May 2nd and May 31st, the University will collect bulk trash as well as items for donation to local charities. Please note that all items must have either a pink tag for charity donations or an orange tag for bulk trash and all pickups must be scheduled in advance. Bulk trash consists of large items for disposal such as furniture and appliances. Charitable donation items might include beds, books, kitchen supplies, toiletries, clothes, couches, dressers, non-perishable foods, and much more.  

CAG Concerts in the Park
Sunday, May 22nd, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Free and open to the public, Georgetown's favorite summer concert series returns, featuring great music, fun family activities, and edible treats! The June concert features Georgetown's own favorite singer songwriter Rebecca McCabe. Feel free to stop by the Georgetown University table as well for snacks and giveaways!


Sunset Fitness in the Park
Wednesdays, from June 1st to August 31st, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Georgetown Waterfront Park at Potomac Street, NW and K / Water Street, NW

27th Annual Glover Park Day
Saturday, June 4th, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Guy Mason Recreation Center at

Glover Park Day, an annual outdoor festival that celebrates the Glover Park neighborhood, will feature the best of Glover Park: good friends, great food from local restaurants, live music, crafters, community organizations, local businesses, kids’ activities and much more. Highlights include a dog obstacle course presented by DogChild, face painting with Barb Scheeler, a moon bounce, yoga for all ages and levels, and story hour with the Georgetown Library. Be sure to stop by the Georgetown University table for snacks and giveaways!

Community Briefing on Georgetown University's Draft Campus Plan

Georgetown University, in partnership with the Citizens Association of Georgetown (CAG), the Burleith Citizens Association (BCA), the Foxhall Community Citizens Association (FCCA), Advisory Neighborhood Commissions 2E and 3D, and the Georgetown University Students Association (GUSA), invites you to a briefing on Georgetown University’s draft 2017 Campus Plan.

Burleith Neighborhood Cleanup
Saturday, June 11th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Ellington Field at 38th and R Streets, NW

Join Georgetown University and community members for a cleanup to beautify our Burleith community. New faces are always welcome, so please bring your neighbors! After fueling up on coffee and breakfast snacks at Ellington Field, volunteers will spread out into the neighborhood or assist with weeding at Ellington Field for the next two hours. Georgetown University will be collecting trash and items that require bulk pick-up.

Annual Burleith Picnic
Saturday, June 18th, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Whitehaven Park at Whitehaven and 37th Streets, NW

The Burleith Annual Picnic will feature live music from the Danny Meyer Band, a Top Dog Contest, a petting zoo, face painting, barbecue and drinks from Rocklands and Town Hall, and much more. Also, be sure to stop by the Georgetown University table for cookies and giveaways.

CAG Concert in the Park
Sunday, June 19th, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Volta Park at Volta and 34th Streets, NW

Free and open to the public, Georgetown's favorite summer concert series continues with their Father's Day concert, featuring the Weathervanes. In addition to great music, there will be fun family activities and special treats to celebrate the dads. Feel free to stop by the Georgetown University table as well for snacks and giveaways!


Annual Palisades 4th of July Parade and Picnic
Monday, July 4th, at 11:00 am
Parade Begins at Whitehaven Parkway

The annual Palisades Parade and Picnic is coming soon and the "best small town parade in DC" is open to all! Be sure to look out for the group from Georgetown University as they will be giving out candy! Following the parade, there is a free picnic at the Palisades Recreation Center featuring hot dogs, watermelon, drinks, live music and moon bounces. Join us and other neighbors to celebrate Independence Day!

Sunset Cinema on the Waterfront
Tuesdays, from July 5th to August 2nd, at sunset
Georgetown Waterfront Park at K / Water Street, NW and Cecil Place, NW

Join the Georgetown BID on Tuesday nights at sunset for the annual Sunset Cinema outdoor movie series! Grab a blanket, bring a picnic and head to the beautiful Georgetown Waterfront Park. 

CAG Concert in the Park
Sunday, July 10th, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Rose Park at O and 26th Streets, NW

Free and open to the public, Georgetown's favorite summer concert series concludes with live music from the Roots Rock / Americana band, The Walkaways. Grab your picnic basket and blanket to join us for this great event! As always, feel free to stop by the Georgetown University table for snacks and giveaways.


National Night Out
Tuesday, August 2nd, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Georgetown University, Healy Lawn

Join Georgetown University and our neighbors for National Night Out, a nationwide effort to promote police-community partnerships and community participation in crime prevention. Georgetown University is hosting National Night Out for the Metropolitan Police Department 2nd District, joining over 37.8 million neighbors across 16,124 communities in the US. The event will feature officers from MPD, GUPD, and other emergency personnel as well as a variety of family-friendly activities and free food.

Meet the Neighbors Career Fair

The Georgetown University Student Association is hosting a "Meet the Neighbors" Career Fair for neighbors to share their career expertise with students. If you are a member of the neighborhood community who is interested in speaking at this event and hosting a roundtable discussion with students, please sign up here by Friday, August 5th.
