Sprint Four the Cure

The 35th annual Sprint Four the Cure, sponsored by the Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC, is a 5K race to promote healthy lifestyles and raise funds and awareness of cancer. All proceeds support the Washington Cancer Institute at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Register as an individual or a team and join the race!
First Responders Picnic

This annual event, hosted by Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia, celebrates all our first responders at the university and in the community. Join us for food and to show our appreciation for all our emergency personnel.

Taste of Georgetown

The Georgetown BID’s 22nd annual Taste of Georgetown features creative tastes from 35 of Georgetown’s best restaurants, a craft beer and wine tent, family-friendly activities, and more! Proceeds from the Taste of Georgetown will support the Georgetown Ministry Center.
Georgetown Community Fair and 5K Race Against Homelessness

Join us for the 3rd annual Georgetown Community Fair, bringing together university and community members to celebrate our communtiy. The event will include resources about university and community programs, food, family-friendly activities, and more! The event is also partnering with the 5K Race Against Homeless benefitting the Georgetown Ministry Center. Join us for the 5K run or 2K walk and stick around for the community fair!

CAG Concerts in the Park

The kickoff concert of the Citizens Association of Georgetown Concerts in the Park series features local pop country music and family activites. The concert will have a “green” theme and feature activities focused on keeping the park clean and health.
Burleith Spring Cleanup

Ellington Field, 38th & R Streets, NW
Join Burleith neighbors for the annual spring clean-up in Burleith. Volunteers will meet at the 38th Street entrannce of Ellington Field at 9:00am and clean the neighborhood until 11:00am. The Department of Public Works will provide rakes, brooms, and trash bags, and Georgetown University garbage trucks will collect the trash.

Glover Park Day

The 26th annual Glover Park Day, sponsored by the Glover Park Citizens Association and the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, features live music, crafters, a flea market, community organizations, local businesses, kids’ activities, food from local restaurants and more.

Palisades 4th of July Parade

The annual Palisades 4th of July Parade begins at Whitehaven Parkway and ends at the Palisades Rec Center, where there is a free picnic for all including hot dogs, watermelon, pony rides, moon bounces and live music.
CAG Concerts in the Park – Beat the Heat

The third and final concert in the CAG Concerts in the Park series will be in Rose Park and include live music, food, and activities to help beat the summer heart.

National Night Out

Join Georgetown University and our neighbors for National Night Out, a nationwide effort to promote police-community partnerships and community participation in crime prevention. Georgetown University is hosting National Night Out for the Metropolitan Police Department 2nd District, joining over 37.8 million neighbors across 16,124 communities in the US. The event will feature officers from MPD, GUPD, and other emergency personnel, a truck touch, food, safety demonstrations and other family-friendly activities.

The 21st annual Taste of Georgetown features food from over 35 Georgetown restaurants, a wine and craft beer pavilion, and live entertainment. The event is hosted by the Georgetown BID and benefits the Georgetown Ministry Center.

The annual Georgetown Community Fair and Tailgate, hosted by the Georgetown Community Partnership, is an opportunity for the Georgetown community to come together. The event will include a community fair with information about university and community resources and a tailgate before the Georgetown football game against Harvard. All are welcome!

Georgetown Ministry Center and the Georgetown University Center for Social Justice are teaming up to to host the annual Georgetown 5k Race Against Homeless. Join us in our cause to end homelessness one person at a time by participating in our 2k walk or 5k race.

West Georgetown Neighborhood Cleanup

Alumni House – 3604 O Street, NW
Join alumni from the DC Alumni Club, GUSA, the Office of Neighborhood Life, and neighbors for a cleanup of West Georgetown! Participants will meet at the Alumni House for breakfast at 10:30 before breaking into groups to clean the neighborhood. All supplies will be provided.
